How do we solve the high water bill problem

Recently, several customers called us about the high water bill issues. Sometimes, it caused by dripping hose bib in the backyard, sometimes, because of continued running toilet, but sometimes it maybe a big issue caused by broken pipe underground. Today, we want to share a case of broke pipe underground.

Step1 Diagnose the reason of high water bill.

After turning off the main shut off valve in the garage, the water meter was still running, so the leaking spot should be outside.

Step2 Determine how the main water line runs.

Went into crawlspace, no leaking here, and found the main water line which run into crawlspace together with main sewer line.

Step3 Leak detection with acoustic equipment.

Pumped high pressure air into the acoustic equipment and detected leaking with it. Located the spot and marked it.

Step4 Call 811 to mark all the lines underground.

Besides the 811 marks, we marked all the irrigation nozzles and mapped out the digging route. We believe adequate preparation will prevent unnecessary damages and lead to efficient work

Step5 Dig by hand, find main water line underground.
